Karin Knapp produced the biggest upset of the Hobart International 2015, beating top seed Casey Dellacqua 7-5 2-6 6-3 in the second round to set up a quarter-final showdown with US qualifier Madison Brengle.
The Italian stayed with Dellacqua before edging the opener as Dellacqua flinched while serving to stay in the set, and rallied after losing seven of the next nine games with two breaks in the final set.
The Australian saved one match point on serve at 5-2 but could not stop Knapp from serving out the match after two hours, eight minutes.
