The countdown to Hobart International 2017 is on – and there is now less than two weeks until some of the world’s best players hit the Domain Tennis Centre.

Before the tournament begins though, all main draw entrants have signed up to a tournament the preceding week. So just where are they playing?

Defending champion Alize Cornet is following the same routine as 2016 and starting her season at the Brisbane International. She is one of five Hobart players in the field.

Frenchwoman Kristina Mladenovic and German Andrea Petkovic are on national duties, representing their countries at the ITF-sanctioned Mastercard Hopman Cup in Perth. They are scheduled to meet in their first round-robin match on 2 January.

Many begin their 2017 season in Auckland, including world No.22 Kiki Bertens and French Open finalist Lucie Safarova.

Former world No.1 Jelena Jankovic has entered Shenzhen. She is joined in the Chinese city by seven other Hobart competitors, including Anastasija Sevastova and Monica Niculescu.
